CELEBRATION OF EDITH’S LIFE SERVICE: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong with Rev. Jim Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Mound Cemetery, rural Oblong, IL.

Edith L. Potts, 82, Oblong, IL., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 15, 2014. She was a patient at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN.
Edith was born on February 27, 1932 in Knox County, IN. near Decker, IN. She was the daughter of Dudley Thompson and Clara (Rouse) Thompson. On September 10, 1950, she married Jerry L. Potts. They were married for 63 years.
Edith was a homemaker. She graduated with Allendale, IL High School Class of 1950; member of the E. U. M. Church of Oblong, IL; volunteer at the Oblong Food Pantry; enjoyed quilting, playing cards, especially Canasta, collecting salt and pepper shakers and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.
Edith is survived by her husband Jerry Potts, Oblong, IL; two sons and daughters-in-law Daryl and Cindy Potts, Oblong, IL and Rick and Sharon Potts, Oblong, IL; five grandchildren Tory and Barbara Potts, Oblong, IL. Ryan Potts and Fiancee’ Kelly Armstrong, Mt. Carmel, IL, Tim and Candy Potts, Oblong, IL, Eric and Dara Potts, Oblong, IL and Jeremy and Danyel Potts, Oblong, IL; nineteen great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Kenny and Fran Thompson, Mt. Carmel, IL; sister Jo Loeffler, Allendale, IL; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws Millie Thompson, Oakwood, IL, Katie and Keith Osmon, Gilbertsville, KY, Maralyn Foote, Benbrook, TX, Nancy and Bob Lane, Newton, IL and Shirley Potts, Lawrenceville, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Edith in death were her parents; a great granddaughter Hailey Ann Elizabeth Potts on Oct 2, 2001; brother Loren Thompson; sister Evelyn Williams; four brothers-in-laws Fred Foote, Forrest Williams, Keith Loeffler and Larry Potts and two sisters-in-law Lettie Saltsgaver and Nelda Prey.
